Free Fishing at Princess Pine 4-H Camp

(PRESS RELEASE/WSU Stevens County Extension)

Washington Free Fishing Weekend is June 8-9. This means fishing licenses are not required of anyone to fish in Washington. As always, youth ages 15 years and younger are invited to fish on Saturday, June 8 at Princess Pine 4-H Camp on Lake Thomas. The fun-filled day of fishing and related natural resource activities begins at 9 a.m. and concludes at 1 p.m.

The Lake Roosevelt Walleye Club will host a casting contest with prizes. There will also be an opportunity to work with a stream table, make a fish print to take home, listen to a story in the Salmon Tent, and other natural resource activities. Prizes, hot dogs and s’mores will be provided.

4-H enrollment is not required. Adults are encouraged to attend and help their children. The fishing derby is free to attend and will be held rain or shine. Remember to bring your life jacket.
Event is hosted WSU Stevens County Extension and the U.S. Forest Service (Colville National Forest) with help from our sponsors Hewes Marine Company, Wal-Mart, and the Lake Roosevelt Walleye Club. For more information or to sign up contact WSU Stevens County Extension at 684.2588.
