Donald Harold Leliefeld 1936-2016

Donald Harold Leliefeld, 79 years young, passed away peacefully May 3, 2016 at his home in Loon Lake, Washington. He was born to Harold Bernard and Virginia L. (Dellenger) Leliefeld July 30, 1936 in Chewelah, Washington and was raised in the Springdale and Clayton area.

Don met Jewell Rail in 1953 and they married June 1, 1957 in the Catholic Church in Valley, Washington. He entered the armed forces in 1960 and served seventeen months in Korea. He graduated with Honors from the Army Medic unit in San Antonio, TX. Don retired as a truck driver for Nabisco.

Don was a loving Husband, Dad, Granddad, and Great Grandad adored by his family more than words could ever express. He enjoyed going on long drives with his wife and loved building anything with his hands. Don’s love of hunting and outdoors was passed on to his sons and all his grandkids. Don’s sense of humor helped his family get through the toughest of times and this will be carried with us throughout our lives.

Don is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jewell Leliefeld; his children Dan Leliefeld, Jody Darrick, and Dave Leliefeld (Kerri) all of Loon Lake, WA; Grandkids, Scotty (Angela), Sean, Jamie (Anthony), Kandace (Josh), Patrick, and JoHanna. Great Grandkids, Maddison, Quinton, Ayana, and Hunter, Brother Jack Leliefeld (Betty), numerous sister & brother in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Harold and Virginia Leliefeld, his sister Lila and his bother Paul.

Don will be missed every day, but remembered in everything we do.

A Rosary vigil service began at 7 p.m., Friday, May 6, 2016 with a Funeral Mass following at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 7, 2016 both at the Springdale Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Springdale, WA.
