The Stevens County Democrats with the 7th LD Democrats came together for their annual picnic at the Chewelah City Park on Sunday, July 29. Guest speakers were Rich Cowan, candidate for 5th Congressional District U.S. House of Representatives, and Dwight Pelz, Washington State Democratic chairperson. Over 40 people were in attendance.
The Stevens County Democrats will be opening a campaign office the middle of August at the south end of Chewelah. Campaign signs and literature will be available along with information about upcoming intiatives and referendums that will be on the General Election Ballot.
The next meeting of the Stevens County Democrats will be held on Monday, August 19 at the Flowery Trail Coffeehouse in Chewelah with a 6 p.m. social time followed by a 7 p.m. meeting. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
