Danny Harding 1947-2016
Danny Harding left us for a better place November 16, 2016. Danny was born the youngest of 11 to Mary (Stahl) and Emil Harding on September 18, 1947. He spent his childhood years helping on the family farm. He always had stories to share of the family antics as he was growing up. In 1965 he graduated from Jenkins High School in Chewelah. He soon went to work for Colmac Coil in Colville only to have to quit when the government called on him to go to Vietnam. In the years after returning to the US he worked at Spokane Transformer. This is where he met his future wife Nancy and her daughter Brenda. They married November 27, 1976. Just over a year later their daughter, Lynette, was born. They moved back to the Chewelah area where Dan got hired at Northwest Alloys in Addy. Twenty-two years later he would opt for early retirment when the plant closed. After retirement Danny and Nancy decided to start spending the cold months in Yuma, Arizona. They also spent a few years as RV park hosts and then bird hazers on the dams in the Tri City area. Dan loved meeting new people and had many amazing friends that he met through his travels. Over the course of his life he had many interests. In his younger years he loved snowmobiling, trap shooting and just being outdoors. He loved just driving around on the back roads. Later he would dsicover NASCAR and become a hug Dale Earnhardt fan. Throughout his life he always had a love for old cars and he built up a small collection of cars in the his later years, but was most passionate about his El Caminos.
