Lady Bulldogs win team scoring at league meet in Chewelah…
Just what are they feeding their kids up in Kettle Falls? For the second-straight league meet in a row the Bulldogs have swept both the boys and girls first place finishes. In Chewelah on Saturday, Sophomore Mya Edwards placed first (20:21) to win the girls race, while Easton Pomrankey placed first with a time of 16:51 on the boys side.
The Lady Bulldogs had a very strong showing as Edwards was followed by teammates Emily Montgomery, a junior, in second (20:48) and senior Zarahemla Johnson in third (21:24). The Kettle Falls girls won the overall team title, beating out Colfax.
Springdale’s Tamieka Valentine was 8th (21:51) while Wellpinit’s Ashawna Anderson was 17th with a time of 23:17.
Chewelah’s top finisher was Kiana Johnson at 21st with a time of 23:47.
In the boys race, St. George’s won the boys overall team title. Wellpinit’s William Dick IV was 12th with a time of 18:16, while Kettle Falls’ Asher Kenney was 15th with a time of 18:32. Chewelah’s top finisher was Zeke Crockett in 18th (18:48).
