Are you looking for a way to help your Colville community? The Colville Lions Club is looking for new members ready to serve the community of Colville through service projects!
During September, the Colville and Chewelah Valley Lions are sponsoring the Lions Health Screening Unit for school vision screening. This service requires 8 to 12 volunteers to check hearing and vision on students in grade school and junior high. By providing this service, vision screening for the schools takes one day instead of several. If you would like to help, please contact Lion Becky Washington at 509-935-6635.
Lions around the world perform other community service projects, offer sight and hearing services, and find ways to improve the cities they are a part of. Lions are known world wide for getting things done! Do you see some needs that aren’t being met by other groups?
Maybe Lions can help meet that need! The Colville Lions Club was just reactivated a year ago and needs enthusiastic members to become a force in the area. It is a building year! Through a partnership with Chewelah, members are able to learn how a club functions and operates at local and district levels. If you think this is an organization you can support, please attend a meeting and get to know what Lions are all about. The next meeting in Colville will be Sept. 13 at 5:30 p.m. at the South Main Sports Bar. The next Chewelah Valley Lions meeting is Sept. 7 at 5:30 p.m. at the American Legion Hall in Chewelah. Contact Lion Becky at the above number if you have questions.
