Parents claim son molested on school bus…
The parents of a student in the Colville School District have sued the school, claiming their son was molested by another student while riding a school bus.
According to the lawsuit, the boy was harassed by a 14-year-old student with “low emotional and cognitive function” who bullied him, called him obscene names and touched him in a sexual manner from 2015-2017. The suit said the older student had been prohibited from riding the school bus in the past for sexual behavior related to another child but was again allowed to ride the school bus unsupervised.
The plaintiff’s son has since transferred to a different school district due to his fear of encountering further abuse, according to the suit.
The family of the boy who experienced the abuse is being represented by attorney Terry Williams. The Colville School District did not respond to a request for comment by press time. It is the policy of the Independent not to release the names of minors who are involved in lawsuits regarding sexual abuse.
