Passed away October 8, 2016 at his home in Valley, WA. He was born on May 22, 1937 in Spokane, WA to Charles and Leona Smith and grew up in Valley, WA and attended school there.
After leaving school early Clarence joined the US Navy. When he returned home after his service he became a truck driver. Clarence loved to drive truck and enjoyed working at NA Degerstrom.
He retired at the age of 55 and was able to be at home with his boys during their high school years. Clarence was a US Navy and US Coast Guard Veteran, member of the V.F.W. and the Eagles Lodge.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and being in the outdoors, watching football and NASCAR, Chevrolets, drag racing, and watching his grandsons grow up.
Clarence is survived by two sons Rodney and Jesse Smith, their wives Rhonda and Lindsay Smith, four grandsons Kevin, Dillon, Layne and Vincent Smith and two great granddaughters Mayzie and Addalene Smith. He has a sister Donna McKernan and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother Glen Smith. A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 1 p.m. at the Valley Fire Dept. Hall, Valley, WA.
