The Chewelah City Council is set to approve the 2017 budget following a Public Hearing at their next regular meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 7, 6:30 p.m., at the City Hall Council Chambers.
The budget authorizes spending of $6.9 million including the following fund expenditures: General Administration $346,689; Public Safety $855,423; Cemetery $30,381; Airport $9,054; Environment $31,000; Social Services $7,196; Culture/Recreation $47,241; Shop Building payments from reserve $105,359; Streets $302,017; Lodging Tax $16,928; Highway 395 Sidewalks $250,400; Ehorn Ln. and Lincoln Ave. construction $803,000; Electric $1,912,298; Water $692,680; Sewer $911,951; Garbage $482,373; Shop $117,249.
An additional $839,952 is held in various fund reserves.
