Fire up your engines and dust off your dancing shoes for the second annual all-ages Rev It Up for the Vets/Dancing With the Cars Street Dance, coming up August 5 in Chewelah. In addition to providing attendees with another fun evening in Chewelah, the event aims to increase support for wounded service people in our area as well as raise awareness about the Chewelah Arts Guild’s Light Up the Park event.
The cruise gets underway at 6 p.m. with bagpipes and a presentation of the colors. Participants will drive a circuit around downtown and then park their cars so that folks may get a closer look at the cruisers. Drivers and dancers may enjoy food options and dancing on 3rd Street to Six Strings ‘n Pearls. Car contests will be interspersed with dance contests and prizes will be awarded for creative costumes and dancing.
Orange will be the color of the evening, with a reserved parking “patch” for orange vehicles.
This all-ages event includes photo opportunities with authentic mid-century automotive memorabilia, and coloring Chewelah through pages in a Chewelah Arts Guild coloring book. It will go on sale for the first time that evening.
