Pitt’s Pro-Tips: Jason Pitt PGA
As summer approaches it brings warmer temperatures and the occasional threat of lightning. Lightning safety is one of the biggest concerns for golf course operators. We want everyone to be safe as the threat of lightning in the area increases. The policy at CG&CC is to blow the air horn to warn golfers when lightning strikes twice within 3 miles of the course. However, each golfer has the right to discontinue play anytime they feel threatened by lightning, even if the air horn was not sounded.
The USGA recommends that golfers seek permanent shelter as soon as possible if they feel threatened. Permanent shelter would be considered the clubhouse, snack shack, etc. Areas to avoid when lightning is present are trees, low lying open areas and temporary shelters (i.e. tents). Please use good judgement when it comes to lightning safety and always remember you have the right to discontinue play anytime you feel threatened.

As we approach mid-season at the golf course it is in fantastic shape. Please check out our specials on www.chewelahgolf.com to take advantage of your local course. The twilight rates are in effect now seven days a week and the long summer days make this one the best values out there for a round of golf.
The new pickleball courts are almost ready for play and the public is welcome. Pickleball is for all ages and is one of the fastest growing racquet sports in the U.S. today. Look for the grand opening dates in the near future.
To accommodate the long summer days, the Rusty Putter Bar & Grill has expanded hours from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Come and enjoy the outdoor patio.
August will be a busy month at the golf course. It is National Golf Month and there will be promotional events throughout the month.
We support Junior Golf. All golfers under age 17 play free Wednesday afternoons and all day Sunday with a paying adult.
R&R at the golf course in July. If you are interested in a quick round of golf after work then our Original 9 hole course is perfect! With daylight until 8 p.m., you can get a round in and still have time to stop by the Rusty Putter Bar & Grill to wind down. Give the Pro-shop a call to set up a tee time.
