LIGHT UP THE PARK: Chewelah’s Light up the Park has always been bright, and you can make it brighter…
Light Up the Park has set world records, turned Chewelah City Park into a pumpkin patch, deployed a pumpkin armada along Chewelah Creek and filled the sky with lanterns.
This year, the Chewelah Arts Guild is planning even more cool things and has issued a call to artists to help create or display works using art as their medium in the park.
According to the Arts Guild, individuals have permission to think big, and this could include projection art, 3D sculptures, glowing performance art and augmented reality. It almost means if you want a gigantic display of halloween lights, go to town.

Also planned this year is a hay ride, carved pumpkins along the creek, a fire dancer, various musical groups, “A Night at the Museum” at the Chewelah Museum, food booths, buskers, games for kids, contests for apple bobbing, the loudest scream and mummy wrapping along with haunted house for youngsters.
Close to the end of the event, Sky Lanterns will be launched again as well.
For the first time ever, Light Up the Park is offering limited vendor opportunities! This is one of our community’s most attended events. You don’t want to miss this.
