Samantha (Sammi) M. Trudeau is the Valedictorian of Jenkins Jr./Sr. High School’s Class of 2016. This year she was the ASB Treasurer. Sammi will graduate with a cumulative GPA of 4.0. She is a four-year varsity athlete in track and field, and a three-year letter recipient in volleyball. Sammi has also been a part of the National Honor Society, SPHYR Club, Outdoor Club, Jazz Band, Concert Band and Knowledge Bowl. She has other varsity letters in Pep Band and in Theatre. Sammi is the daughter of Paul and Andi Trudeau and the big sister of Joey. Sammi has a love of learning, sports, her family and friends, and the great outdoors.
Sammi will be attending Carroll College in Helena, Montana this coming fall. She will be participating in the Honors program and plans to major in Biology with a minor in European studies. She will be pursuing Pre-Med at Carroll to prepare her for a career as a pediatric intensivist. Sammi will be continuing her track and field career at Carroll as well. She will be a thrower for the Saints’ track team.
Michael Reed Larsen is the Salutatorian of the Jenkins Jr./Sr. High School Class of 2016. He is the son of Paul and Lori Larsen. He has four younger siblings; Rachael, Emma, Nathan and Zachary. During his high school career, he ran cross-country for four years, and ran track and played tennis for one year each. He has been an active member in a variety of clubs, including jazz, concert and pep bands, National Honor Society, SPHYR Club, Outdoors Club, as well as others. He plays violin and viola, and performs with the Spokane Youth Symphony.
He is also an Eagle Scout.
Michael will be attending Carroll College next year on a Pre-Medical track, pursuing a major in Microbiology and a minor in Music. He would like to thank all the people who have guided him through his life, but especially his parents, and the men and women of Boy Scout Troop 989 in Valley, Washington.
