Minda McClain 1934-2016
Minda Jane McClain passed away November 19, 2016. She was born in Holdenville, Oklahoma on November 29, 1934. She was 81. She moved to California in the early 1950s, where she raised her 2 children, Kenneth Wayne Shores and Virginia Mae Jansen and worked for the Santa Paula High School for many years as a secretary.
Minda moved to Chewelah in 1981 and again worked for the school district for a few years. She finished her career working at Jenkins High School for many years. She always said, “Some days those kids made me feel really old, but most days they kept me young.”
She is pre-deceased by her husband Thomas McClain (2002) and son Kenneth Wayne Shores (2009).
Minda is survived by daughter Virginia Mae Jansen, son-in-law Dick Jansen, granddaughter Melanie Ruhl, and husband,Sonny Ruhl, granddaughter Kadee Lelbach, grandson Justin Lelbach, great granddaughters Kirstyn Ruhl and Jordyn Ruhl, great grandson Avery Highfill, brother Bud McCoy and wife Ruby McCoy, brother Jerry McCoy, nieces Teresa, Sheri, and nephew Troy.
The service for Minda will be held at the Abundant Life Fellowship, in Chewelah, Friday, November 25, 2016 at 1 p.m.
