Nice going Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA). In your op-ed piece “Is There a Republican War on Women” you’ve managed to drive another nail into the Republican coffin.
You quote 2010 statistics to support your argument that women supported Republican candidates, but ignored the fact that this is 2012.
You crow over the number of congressional seats nine Republican women won in 2010 and deride the liberal media, without any mention of Fox News, for not covering that news better.
You talk about the great gains women have made, but don’t say one word criticizing the vile slurs made by your mouthpiece, Rush Limbaugh, who called a young woman a “Slut”, “Prostitute”, and “Promiscuous” for having the temerity to appear before Congress to testify about birth control.
You don’t talk about Republican politicians, mostly men, in individual states who have enacted legislation taking away women’s rightful control over their own health issues.
You don’t talk about Republicans passing legislation requiring women have highly invasive trans-vaginal ultrasounds preformed on them in order to have a medical procedure they and only they should control.
Gov. Tom Corbett (R) Pennsylvania sponsored his state’s very own mandatory ultrasound bill. To deflect criticism of the legislation, which requires the ultrasound screen to be within the woman’s eyeshot, Corbett remarked, “I don’t know how you make anybody watch. You just have to close your eyes.”
Let’s talk about Washington women not closing their eyes to your disregard for the real truth about women’s rights and your party legislating them away.
