The members of the “Firefighters Association of Fire District 4” will be holding a fund raiser breakfast on Sunday, May 27 at the District Training Center located at 3060 3rd Ave in Valley.
They will be serving scrambled eggs, biscuits and sausage gravy, coffee, milk and orange juice, from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. or until the food is gone. There is no charge for the breakfast. However, the association members will be soliciting free will donations.
The association is composed of current and former members of Fire district 4 and citizens who have been selected as honorary members. The purpose of the association is to support the services that the District provides to the citizens and property owners of the district and to promote district and community functions for the benefit of the community. The association is supported entirely through donations from members and the community. No Fire District funds (tax funds) go to the association.
Among the services that the Association provides to the community are monetary grants to families and individuals who have been forced out of their home due to a fire. Association members also promote and participate in activities like citizen first aid and CPR classes, scouting events the Valley Fair and a scholarship for a graduating high school senior. The association has also purchased equipment for the District, such as GPS units to be placed on the fire engines, and misting/cooling equipment to help cool firefighters during their firefighting rest period
The Association members are a group of volunteers who have come together to try to help make their community a great place to live in. So come have breakfast and Help Us Help You.
