Cougars pick up four league victories in a week…
Bad weather the previous week had Chewelah cramming in four league games and they emerged from that marathon unscathed. They defeated Medical Lake 11-1 on Friday and 17-1 on Saturday to improve to 11-3 overall and 7-1 in league play.

On Friday, Chewelah whacked 12 hits as a team and needed just six innings to defeated Medical Lake 11-1. Zak Kubik drove in three runs and had two hits in the victory.
Elan Krausz and Gavin Parrott also had two hits. Parrott drove in two runs as did Carl Oman. Krausz had a triple. Zarren Nelson finished with a hit and had four quality at bats in the game.
Andrew Sweat pitched 4 /13 innings on the mound for the Cougars, striking out four. Elan Krausz pitched the remaining 1 2/3 innings and struck out three.
On Saturday, the Cougars had 12 runs in the top of the second inning en route to a 17-1 victory over Medical Lake. Chewelah had 14 hits as a team, while Medical Lake mustered three hits.
On the mound, Justin rollis pitched four innings and struck out four. Dylan Davis struck out three in the game as well.
Elan Krausz had two hits for the Cougars, while Zak Kubik and Gavin Parrott each had two hits. Krausz and Kubik each drove in three runs, while Andrew Sweat drove in two runs.
Carol Oman also had two hits. Oman, Kubik, Parrott, Jon Larsen and Jake George each had doubles.
Chewelah will host Colville on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. and then play at Freeman on Friday. Medical Lake fell to 3-10 on the year.
