What an awesome day!
The Chamber clean up went well. Members of the Chamber, business owners, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, youth group, leadership students, members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, The United Church of Christ, The Abundant Life Chruch, men, women and children all showed up ready to pitch in to spruce up our town. I thank all of you who participated in this great event. I also want to thank the Kiwanis and Lions Club, who took on the task of feeding us. We were a hungry group so the barbecued hamburgers and hot dogs really tasted good.
I also want to thank the city for loaning us some sweeping brooms and for sweeping the streets on Monday.
A job well done.
I hope this feeling of caring for our town resonates throughout our community to where people will start cleaning up around their homes and alleys. It’s surprising what can be accomplished when we all work together for the common good, to make Chewelah a neat, clean and an attactive place to live.
