Get Your Costumes Ready
BOOFEST 2016 is almost here! This year’s event will be on Friday, Oct. 28. There will be trick-or-treating at participating businesses from 4-6 p.m. — don’t forget to get your Boofest map and passport in the Oct. 27 edition of The Independent. When trick-or-treating is done, it will be followed by a costume contest at the Chewelah Civic Center. Again this year, Chewelah Kiwanis is generously providing free hot dogs as well.
How the passport works: In The Independent’s Special BOOFEST pull-out, all the participating businesses are on the BOOFEST map. Each location has a specific place on the passport to be “stamped” when you trick-or-treat there. Children who visit every location and get the passport filled will be eligible to put their passport into a large cauldron for a prize drawing at the Chewelah Civic Center.
There is no cost to participate in BOOFEST. This event is not a fundraiser; it is a community builder and FUN-raiser. However, KCHW needs and appreciates donations of cash or goods for the prizes. If you wish to participate, make a donation for this event or have questions, call KCHW’s business line and leave a message at 509-935-6627, or email the Station Manager – Scott Schlafman at firstname.lastname@example.org.
KCHW is thrilled to join the Chewelah Arts Guild’s Light Up the Park on Saturday, Oct. 29 and be a part of this two-day harvest time celebration in Chewelah.
Thank you to the Chewelah Kiwanis for their support in providing food for the event.
