The traditionally relaxed and laid-back Sunday wind-down of the Chataqua weekend will come to an end this summer when Allen Stone and his band take the stage for a two-hour concert.
Center Stage will rock and roll when Stone returns to his hometown on Sunday, July 14, to perform a live concert from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Community Celebrations received a signed contract from Stone on Feb. 13, announced Sue Lind, Chataqua entertainment chairman.
“Allen will be our featured artist this year,” said Lind. “We just received his signed contract on Wednesday, and we are looking forward to seeing him on Center Stage this summer.”
Stone is currently in the middle of a European tour. Last Friday he performed a concert in London. He will be in Belgium, Sweden, Norway, the Netherlands, France, and Germany throughout this month. Then, he goes on to Australia in March and to Japan in April.
Stone’s self-titled 2011 album “Allen Stone” peaked at the number two spot on the R&B/Soul charts on iTunes. He has made appearances on the Conan, Jimmy Kimmel, and Ellen shows.
Allen is a Chewelah native and 2005 Jenkins High School graduate.
