Springdale (8-2-1) got just about all they could handle when they hosted a previously undefeated Wilbur-Creston squad, kicking things up a notch and ultimately prevailing in five sets, 27-25, 22-25, 22-25, 25-11, 15-7. The Lady Chargers are consistently looking like one of the better 2B teams in the area and teams hoping to go through the postseason should take note.
Facing a 2-1 deficit after three sets, the Chargers(9-2, 2-0) turned on another gear to throttle the Wildcats (2-1, 2-1) in the last two sets and cruise to the victory. Stellar play from Chargers players seemed to go around the whole squad as multiple players lit up the stat sheet. Mattea Gines and Macey Gines topped the team with 49 digs and 43 assists, respectively, while Andrea Welhausen put down 21 kills in the win.
Springdale now looks to a road matchup with Kettle Falls Oct. 1 at 6:30 p.m.
