Bulldogs notch season-high in points in loss to Manson…
Homecoming for the Bulldogs featured a lot of offense and scoring, as Nick Anderson rushed for 102 yards and scored two touchdowns for Kettle Falls in a 51-26 loss to 2B nonleague foe Manson.
Kettle trailed just 7-6 in the first quarter after Anderson ripped off a 70-yard touchdown run but Manson would build their lead back up to 22-6 just before halftime.
With just 1:50 left in the first half, Kettle Falls quarterback Talon Olson completed a 61-yard touchdown pass to Aaron Olson to make it 22-12.
In the third quarter two touchdown run and a safety would put Manson up 30-12, but Kettle Falls would once again get a big play from Nick Anderson. Anderson scooped up a fumble and ran it back 31-yards for the touchdown to pull the Bulldogs to within 37-20 thanks to a two-point conversion pass from Olson to Gunner Graves.
Manson would score two more times, but Kettle got yet another exciting moment as Pheonyx Dodson returned a kickoff 95 yards to make it 55-26.
Manson finished the game with 429 yards of total offense, including 392 on the ground. Caden Beazley ran for 236 yards with four touchdowns for the Trojans.
Kettle Falls had 178 offensive years and averaged 4.3 yards per play. Olson was 6-for-12 for 85 yards for the Bulldogs.
The loss drops Kettle Falls to 0-5 on the year but since the NE 2B North Division is so small, they’ve only played one league game, the next three weeks will be key for the Bulldogs playoff changes. They’ll face 2-4 Chewelah at home this Friday at 7 p.m. Manson improved to 3-3.
