1B VOLLEYBALL: Reese Rickabaugh leads Republic past Curlew

The Republic Tigers picked up their second win of the season, downing Curlew in four sets as part of Wednesday’s 1B volleyball action. Reese Rickabaugh led the Tigers with 27 assists, as Republic picked up the 25-10, 19-25, 25-16, 25-16 victory in Curlew.

Outside hitter Lindsey Short led the Tigers with 13 kills, while Kaci Harman and Olivia Olton each had 16 digs. Emma Vanslyke led Republic with seven aces.

Republic began the season sweeping Hunters on Feb. 20, then lost to NE 1B powerhouse Northport in three sets.

Curlew’s freshman Emma Lena Baker led all hitters with 14 kills and three blocks while senior setter Taylor Ringstad had 23 assists. Junior Abigail Beedle notched 13 digs in the matchup.

In four games this spring, Curlew has swept both Hunters and Inchelium while falling in four games to Northport.
