Springdale traveled over to Ferry County where they faced Curlew in a midweek NE 1B football game. The Cougars were waiting and unleashed quarterback Lane Olson. Olson rushed for over 100 yards three touchdowns and collected an interception in a 36-6 victory over the Chargers.
The game went three and a half quarters, and Curlew held Springdale to two first downs in the matchup. Dominic thin-Elk scored Springdale’s touchdown against Curlew.
Brad Rooster Singer had a big game for Curlew with a fumble recovery he returned for a touchdown along with two rushing touchdowns and over 100 rushing yards. He also scored two extra points.
Curlew’s fullback Conner Pennington notched an extra point and also went over 100 yards rushing. The Cougars’ receivers Josh Wright and Michael Feist each had 35 recieving yards.
Curlew bounced back from a 40-0 loss to Republic to improve to 1-1 while Springdale dropped to 0-2 on the year.
Springdale will host Hunters/Inchelium on Wednesday, March 3 at 1 p.m.
