Lions move into second place of Northeast 1B North Division
Hunters won its third straight game with a 48-0 Northeast 1B football victory over Selkirk Friday afternoon. Riley McLain ran for two touchdowns and passed for another in the victory. In their previous three games, the Lions offense has scored a combined 198 points.
Jacob Pierce got Hunters going early against Selkirk early. On the Lions first drive, he broke a 45-yard touchdown off. Then on Selkirk’s next drive, Vance Kieffer picked the ball off and ran it back 68 yards to make it 14-0. McLain then rounded out the scoring in the first quarter for Hunters with touchdown runs of 30 yards and 35 yards.
In the second quarter, Kieffer scored again on a 35-yard run despite twisting his ankle going from grass to baseball diamond dirt on the run. He would remain in the game. Also in the second quarter, Daniel Wines scored on a run from 48 yards out.
In the third quarter, McLain threw an 80-yard touchdown pass to Pierce to complete the Lions scoring.
Hunters (2-2) hosts Cusick next week.
